1 till 4 December 2020
World's largest meeting place for the wind power industry
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, WindEnergy 2020 has been postponed to the beginning of December.
Wind power is an important pillar of the energy transition. It creates jobs and strengthens the regional economy. At the same time, a lack of expansion space, distance regulations and cost pressure are creating problems for designers, manufacturers and suppliers. The dynamics of the industry in its current, globally diverse facets is demonstrated at WindEnergy 2020. Under the motto "Climate First", more than 1,400 national and international exhibitors will present the latest products and services of the wind power industry. In nine exhibition halls, visitors can gain a comprehensive overview of current developments and trends: from components, through production and installation, to operational management and network operation. Furthermore, the WindEnergy Conference offers the opportunity to find out more in lectures and discussion forums. For the first time this year the congress will be held in the heart of the exhibition halls.
Energy storage systems as a key topic
WindEnergy Hamburg 2020 is characterised by three key topics: electrification - meaning the expansion of the electricity infrastructure -, energy storage systems and Power-to-X solutions. Power-to-X describes the conversion of power into other forms of energy such as hydrogen. The three topics are described as "missing links" for a successful energy transition. The organisers aim to bring together manufacturers, suppliers and operators of wind turbines with experts in the above-mentioned key topics at the exhibition centre. In addition, the international cooperation exchange WindEnergyMatch will be held again.
Monitoring the current corona situation
The organisers point out that they will monitor the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic very closely. As the health of visitors, exhibitors and all other trade fair and congress participants is paramount, all measures are taken to protect customers, partners and employees.
