The EU is pooling research activities to accelerate the energy transition. An online survey on the proposed strategy will run until the end of August.

The European Partnership "Clean Energy Transition" (CET) bundles research activities of EU Member States among themselves and with third countries in the field of energy. The overall objective: Europe is to become the first climate neutral continent in the sense of the "Green Deal". Stakeholders and those interested in energy policy are now invited to comment online on the proposed strategy until 31 August.

CET will address the key challenges of the energy transition until 2030 through a strategic research and innovation agenda. The partnership is intended to accelerate the transition to a decarbonised, sustainable and affordable energy system and the underlying technologies. The partnership is based on the topics of the "Strategic Energy Technology Plan", SET Plan for short, which provides the strategic foundation for a climate-neutral energy system at European level.

Survey makes important contribution to the partnership

The CET partnership is initiated under the umbrella of the EU framework programme "Horizon Europe", which replaces the current "Horizon 2020" from 2021. The measures will go beyond simply promoting joint research projects. The aim is to promote the establishment of a European Knowledge Community on the energy transition and policies for its implementation.

Those interested in participating in the online survey should first read the draft proposal. The subsequent online survey takes about 10-20 minutes.
